Organizational Overview
The health team of the YCC formally kicked-off in January 2010.

Prior to January a number of people had expressed a desire to move a health agenda forward. A Town Hall meeting on health was held in August 2009 in Prescott. The United Way held two Community Conversations in 2009, one in the Verde Valley and one in Prescott at which health was identified as a priority issue.

At the Community Conversations held at Prescott College, health was a subject that received significant attention. With the level of interest expressed in these venues a health team was formed under the auspices of YCC.

Currently more than 50 residents of Yavapai County have expressed interest in working on improving health in the county. A core group of individuals are meeting monthly to develop a cohesive group and an agenda for addressing health issues.

Additionally, Yavapai College has offered the use of its teleconferencing facilities so that YCC can connect groups throughout the county. YCC is also using GoTo Meeting software that allows anyone with an internet connection to participate with the group.
